Notes and additional requirements: USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 or COMLEX Levels 1 and 2 required before residency start; no set USMLE cutoff, but most applicants score above 235 on Step 2 and first-attempt passes are expected. For IMGs: ECFMG certification required by application or February 1 of the match year; at least one month of hands-on U.S. clinical experience recommended (tele-rotations accepted; observerships/research excluded). USMLE Step 3 required by December 31, 2026 for H-1B sponsorship eligibility. J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship available, with H-1B limited to specific eligible statuses.
