Notes and additional requirements: Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 1 before the interview. Applicants must pass USMLE Step 2 before beginning the program, and ideally before the NRMP Rank Order List. We do a holistic review of the application, not just limited to the scores, as we believe that each applicant is more than a score. In case of Multiple failures on standardized exams, an explanation in the personal statement is always helpful. Osteopathic applicants (DO) need not take the USMLE exams to be considered for our program. The COMLEX exams are considered equivalent. Applicants should have clinical experience within the past 3 years. U.S. experience is very desirable in our search for the ideal resident. We do not have a cut-off for graduation year. A holistic review is done of the time gap between medical school and application for residency training. All applicants are encouraged to apply who wish to be considered. While we do not have a strict graduation cut-off, preference is given to individuals who have clinical experience within the past five years. Being part of a residency training program in a different country within the last 5 years is also considered. International Medical Graduates must submit proof of ECFMG certification before the Rank Order List submission deadline. US clinical experience in the form of clinical rotations, externships, observerships is preferred not required.
