IMGs must have valid ECFMG certification prior to appointment and demonstrable inpatient experience; observerships and research do not meet this requirement. Graduation within the past two years is preferred. Providence considers permanent residency only. Program signals receive preferential consideration, with gold signals likely to receive an interview offer and applicants without at least a silver signal unlikely to receive one.
