Requirements notes:
Supplemental Sheet 2 Non-Academic Criteria for Selection to the Faculty of Medical Sciences – Mandatory for MB.BS. DDS & DVM Programmes.
GPA, MCAT notes:
a) CXC/CSEC or GCE O’Level passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects. Subject requirements are English Language, Biology/Integrated Science/Human and Social Biology, Mathematics and 2 other approved subjects. Grade requirements for CXC/CSEC are General Proficiency, Grades I or II pre-1998 and Grades I, II, or III from June 1998; and b) CAPE or GCE A’Level passes in a minimum of two (2) subjects. CAPE subject must consist of both Unit 1 and Unit 2 from either Mathematics, Physics or Biology and any other as specified by Nursing Council of Jamaica or c) An Associate degree from other approved tertiary institutions having attained a B+ average or a minimum GPA of 2.5; or d) High School Grade 12 transcript with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum SAT I score of 1700 plus a minimum of two (2) SAT II subjects at a score of 500 or above or successful completion of Advanced Placement Courses or the International Baccalaureate programme.
