Admission process notes:
Although out-of-state students are welcome to apply to the M.D. program, preference and priority consideration is given to in-state students from the state of Missouri as well as to regional students from the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. All applicants must complete the secondary application, the General Application for Admission to UMKC. Applicants should not wait for a secondary invite in order to complete the General Application for Admission to UMKC. Applicants will not receive the supplemental invite to the UMKC M.D. portal until after they have been verified by AMCAS. Upon receiving the supplemental invite, students will have access to the UMKC student portal. In the UMKC student portal, students must complete a final submission of the supplemental application.
Requirements notes:
A minimum of three letters of recommendation is required. UMKC School of Medicine will accept committee letters completed by three of more individuals.
GPA, MCAT notes:
Earned a minimum cumulative undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0. Earned a minimum undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0 in AMCAS biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics coursework (BCPM). Out-of-state applicants (applicants not from Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Illinois) must earn a minimum cumulative undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.5, as well as a minimum AMCAS BCPM GPA of 3.5. A minimum MCAT score of 495 is required. MCAT scores must have been earned within three years of the application deadline.
Deadlines notes:
Applicants for admission to the UMKC School of Medicine M.D. program must submit all applications and application materials by Aug. 1. Official transcripts must be sent to AMCAS and received by Aug. 15. Secondary Submission Deadline August 9th.
Tuition fees notes:
Regional (residents of Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arkansas and Illinois) - $67,776; Nonresidents - $81,714.
