Admission process notes:
As a state-assisted medical school, Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine gives preference to West Virginia residents. An invitation to complete the Supplemental Application will be extended via the WebAdMIT gateway to applicants with a verified AMCAS application who meet our minimum requirements.
Requirements notes:
Three letters of recommendation or a composite premedical advisory committee letter are required.
GPA, MCAT notes:
The MCAT must be taken within three calendar years prior to matriculation. An MCAT minimum of 500 or greater is preferred for residents of West Virginia and the following surrounding counties: Lawrence, Gallia, and Scioto, Ohio and Boyd, Greenup, and Carter, Kentucky. An MCAT minimum of 505 or greater is preferred for out-of-state residents. A minimum science (BCPM) GPA of 3.0 is required for all applicants. However, to be considered competitive at JCESOM, a 3.5 or greater BCPM GPA is preferred.
Deadlines notes:
Applications for admission are accepted by AMCAS from June 1 to November 1 of the year prior to enrollment.  Supplemental application materials and all letters must be submitted through AMCAS by December 15 of the year prior to matriculation.
Tuition fees notes:
WV Resident – for total of seven (7) semesters - $72,324.00. Non-resident – for total of seven (7) semesters - $110,222.00.
