Admission process notes:
We offer an accelerated 7-year BS/MD program in which students earn their BS in biomedical sciences in three years and are then eligible to enter the four-year MD program. Each applicant must submit two separate applications: An online application to the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program at the CUNY School of Medicine, AND a general CUNY online application OR a CUNY Macaulay Honors College application. On the general CUNY application, students must list the Biomedical Science (Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education) BS/MD as a choice.
Requirements notes:
To be considered for admission to the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program / CUNY School of Medicine, an applicant must: Be a high school graduate as of June 30; Have a minimum grade point average of 85 through the first three years of high school; Submit three essays; Submit five letters of recommendation.
Please note, submitting ACT and SAT scores will remain optional for students in the 2024-2025 application cycle.
GPA, MCAT notes:
*Transfer students who have completed no more than one semester of college credits are eligible to apply. They must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA and enrolled in at least one Science course in their first college semester.
Deadlines notes:
The deadline for the application to the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program at the CUNY School of Medicine is December 30th. The general application to The City University of New York should be submitted by February 1st.
