Notes and additional requirements: The Clinical Medical Genetics Residency is open to physicians who have successfully completed at least one year of training in an ACGME-accredited residency program in a recognized specialty (such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB-GYN, etc.) as well as experience seeing patients. International medical school graduates may petition the ABMGG to have their residency training (which may have been overseas) approved. All international applicants must be ECFMG certified and must have passed the USMLE Steps 1-2. If international applicants are seeking an H-1B visa, they must also have passed USMLE Step 3.
