Notes and additional requirements: Applicants from international medical schools must be ECFMG-eligible prior to interviews and certified prior to starting residency, if matched. In general, if graduated, for consideration for our program, you must have ECFMG certification by January. U.S. clinical experience is not a requirement, but is highly encouraged. For candidates who took USMLE Step 2 CS, Pass on the first attempt. At least three letters of recommendation (up to four) reflecting an applicant's clinical abilities in any setting and specialty are required. We strongly encourage that one of these letters be a letter from a Department of Medicine Chair or Dean. A minimum USMLE Step 1 score of 240 on the first attempt, if taken before the exam became pass/fail, or Pass on the first attempt. For International Medical Graduates, preference will be given to candidates who have passed USMLE Step 3 on the first attempt.
