Notes and additional requirements: Step 1 and Step 2 are required. 2 to 3 Letters of Recommendation – For US graduates, one letter should be from the Department Chair, Clerkship Director or similar or anyone who can attest to your internal medicine performance. There are a number of reserved categorical slots for applicants from Latin America and the Caribbean who require a J-1 visa, as a part of the William J. Harrington Program (Latin American Program). U.S. Clinical experience is not absolutely required but is preferred.
