Notes and additional requirements: Applicants that are matched into our program will start their residency in our department the July after the completion of their transitional or preliminary intern year. Incoming residents may complete their intern year in any program they wish. Several preliminary-year and transitional-year programs are available in the Washington D.C., metropolitan area for incoming residents who wish to stay in this area throughout their five total years of training.
