Notes and additional requirements: Step 1/Level 1 on first attempt. Step 2/Level 2 is required prior to the Match. Current ECFMG certification required for IMGs. For IMGs U.S. experience (i.e., “observership”) is preferred but not required. If an applicant wishes to obtain an H-1B visa, the applicant must have passed USMLE Step 3 and the Score Report must be available by Match day.
