Notes and additional requirements: USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, or COMLEX 1 and 2 required before February 1. Letter from medical school dean or Medical Student Performance Evaluation. Three letters of recommendation from physicians familiar with the applicant’s character and abilities are required. Two must be from physicians practicing internal medicine or an internal medicine subspecialty. For international graduates, applicants must have at least two months of U.S. clinical experience within the past 24 months. While recent domestic clinical experience and recent graduation are preferred, there are no strict cut-offs for the year of graduation.
